Freeport Boulevard Is Running the Same Play at a Different Price Point
While Barnum-Dann builds toward 2027 on Broadway, a much smaller expansion already finished on the other side of the neighborhood. Hidden Dumpling House, founded by owner Danni Kan, opened its first location in Elk Grove in March 2022 and its second in Midtown in April 2023. Its third opened this year on Freeport Boulevard, in the space that used to be Yummy Cafe, with a soft opening in mid-May and a grand opening in June. The new space has 21 indoor tables and 12 outdoor ones, more outdoor seating than either of Kan's other two locations, and it's pet-friendly like the rest of them.
Kan has said she chose this stretch of Freeport for its quiet character and its closeness to Midtown, which makes running three locations at once more manageable.
